my news story

This is my news story... I put a lot of work into this. I hope you enjoy it!

Mrs.Carson Surprised When A Group Of Students She Taught The Year Before Show Up At Her Classroom Door

By:Eleanor S. Holt-Shippey

It all started when two students that were in Mrs.Carson’s 4th grade classroom that they attended the class the year before: Ellie, and Rosie.

It was late September when the students were sent by their current teacher : Mrs.Barnes (a 5th grade teacher at Glenridge Elementary). Mrs.Barnes’s class was going around the school

(where both teachers worked, and where Rosie, and Ellie went to school) to find newsworthy topics for their journalism unit in writing. When Ellie, and Rosie were sent they were excited to see their teacher from 4th grade. When they walked in Mrs.Carson’s classroom it was empty. The only person there was Mrs.Carson, and she was on the phone with someone (Ellie, and Rosie believed it was a family member or peer ).

“ Umm... there are two kids I taught last year at my classroom door.” Mrs.Carson said to the person she was talking to on the phone.

Ellie giggled a little but Rosie was on the floor laughing.

Now some would say “That’s rude just to barge in like that.” but others would say “It was fine because the teacher sent by the techer.”

I interviewed rosie. Here are the results:

Me: “What were you thinking when we walked in Mrs.Carson’s class?”

Rosie: “I was thinking Oh she must have a class. but the students must have been away from the classroom and I laughed when I saw the room emty with only Mrs.Carson in the room who was on the phone.”

Me: “What made you laugh so hard?”

Rosie: “When Mrs.Carson said: “There are a bunch of 5th graders at my door staring at me.”

Me: “Looking back what do you think you could have handled better?”

Rosie: “I think I could have left the room earlier.”

That’s all I have for today. Goodbye for now!

if I ran the world

This is what it would be like if I ran the world. This poem is funny and it comes from the heart. I hope you enjoy it.

If I Ran The World
By: Eleanor S. Holt-Shippey

If I ran the world,
You would always have a friend to trust,
An infinite supply of food and water of your choice,
And ABSOLUTELY NO BOYS ALLOWED fun!

If I ran the world,
Immigrants would be welcome,
Women's rights welcome,
And ABSOLUTELY NO POVERTY.

If I ran the world,
Money would grow on trees,
All people would live in peace and happiness (or however they choose to live),
It would be the best GIRLS ONLY place EVER.

If I ran the world,
Everyone would get treated fairly,
Instead of paying your bills you would have to watch one episode of anime every month.
That’s the amazing world I would rule.
